Due to your support, I have the honor of being the Mayor of Gaithersburg and am now running for re-election. I am asking for your vote on November 3rd.

 

I am proud of my experience in Municipal government and enjoy working for the citizens of Gaithersburg everyday and not just when there is an election. I have many strong relationships both throughout the Community and with Federal, State and Local officials, allowing me to achieve the greatest results on issues facing the City and its residents.

 

I believe that it is extremely important to be accessible to everyone. I am always available to speak about concerns involving the city and pride myself on being responsive.

 

I am someone who listens and learns. By listening to each other I have learned we can develop the best solutions.

 

I am pleased to have been a part of keeping the city debt free without raising the tax rate for 45 years.

 

As you know, we are in a very difficult economic climate. To combat this, we are constantly evaluating the plan that is currently in place and continue to look for additional ways to improve our situation. There have been some positive signs but obviously we want many more successes. The city has approved homes and commercial space to be built and are now waiting for financing.

 

Economic Development is not a “one size fits all” issue and we need to constantly determine what is and what is not working and make appropriate adjustments. We must be flexible but not compromise on design and workmanship.

 

I am proud to have assisted Gaithersburg in the past and believe that we need my experience and dedication to make certain that our future is equally proud.
